Do you suffer from headaches? Osteopathy can help!

There are many different types of headaches, including:

  • migraines
  • sinus headaches
  • cluster headaches
  • tension headaches

Headaches can arise from various factors, such as: dehydration, caffeine intake, not enough physical activity, or the presence of trigger points.

Headaches can also be caused by the misalignment of the vertebrae, especially rotated C1 vertebrae or compression of blood vessels in specific areas of the body, such as the head or neck.

As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Mohammad takes a comprehensive approach to managing headache symptoms. He assesses the entire body to identify the root cause of headaches, whether they originate from the neck, head, chest, mid-back, lower back, or even the feet!

Once the underlying issue is determined, he will provide the appropriate osteopathic treatment. This may involve cranial manipulation, direct/indirect inhibition of suboccipital muscles, neck vertebrae mobilization evaluation, and strategies to restore their movement.

He also assesses the patient’s breathing mechanics, focusing on the thoracic inlet, and may perform soft tissue manipulation to ensure optimal respiratory function. This thorough approach can help to restore proper body function and improve headache symptoms.

Other things you can do to help alleviate headaches:

–       Stay hydrated
–       Stand at work when possible
–       Walk as much as you can
–       Use the stairs as often as you can
–       Get outside!
